Joey Arrigo

Joey is a dancer, teacher and choreographer from the Greater Toronto Area. He tours with Cirque du Soleil’s Volta playing the principal character Waz.  Previously he played the Trickster in Cirque du Soleil’s Kooza. Joey choreographs and teaches at dance studios across Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.

In addition to performing with Cirque du Soleil, Joey was a principal dancer in the Disney movie Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, the choreographer’s assistant to Mia Michaels on So You Think You Can Dance Canada (seasons 1, 2, and 3), and a dancer on Rasta Thomas and the Bad Boys of Dance world tour.

Joey was on faculty with JUMP Dance Convention and was a member of Shaping Sound Dance Company’s first national tour in 2013. He was one of Canada’s Top 20 dancers on CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance Canada, and soon after, went onto to perform for Ukraine’s Everybody Dance. In addition to holding multiple national titles for Dance Masters of America, Joey was the 2010 Senior National VIP for JUMP.

Additional performing credits include the Bell Celebrity Gala, the opening party for the Toronto International Film Festival and the opening of the Toronto Stock Exchange. He has appeared on many local Canadian television and radio shows including CP24, Global, AM640, JazzFM.91 and Breakfast Television.  Joey was featured on 90.7 FM Los Angeles IMRU Radio with Michael Taylor Gray on his segment “Storytellers”.
